Today's spider picture was sent to me by Guy Loeffler of Apex, NC. It's a lovely trapdoor spider he found while working some land. GREAT picture! Thanks, Guy!
We were planting about 1,600 grapes vines for a new vineyard (three miles south of Street of SouthPoint mall area) and found this one while filling in some vine holes. Unfortunately, we did not get to see it's trapdoor. Lastly, I wasn't able to put a reference next to it when I took the picture, but it is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in circumference.
Cool on planting vines! My husband wants to be reassured that no spiders were hurt in the taking of this picture and that it was released safely :) He's a bit of a freak, but I love him!
